Home grown and family owned. The Pieper name has been synonymous with banking and insurance in Eastern Colorado since 1918 when Albert L. Pieper came to work at Farmers State Bank. At that time, A. L. Pieper probably did not realize he would start a family legacy spanning three generations. In 1928, A. L. and a partner bought controlling interest in the Bank and Insurance Agency. A. L. later served as President from 1961 until his death in 1967.
The second generation, A. L.'s son, John, joined the bank in 1952. John, known as "Nap", has seen vast changes in the banking and insurance industry. He realizes the importance of technology, yet continues to stress customer service. Nap served as President of the bank from 1974 to 1986 and is currently the Chairman of the Board.
The legacy continues, daughter Joan Lawson joined the bank in 1980, son Randy Pieper coming aboard in 1989. Joan and Randy currently serve as Co-Presidents and members of the Board of Directors. Nap's wife Dorothy Ann (D.A.) and daughter Candy Enix and son John A. Pieper are also active board members.
The Pieper clan has deep roots in banking and insurance and strive to keep the independent family owned and operated business focused on helping the surrounding communities grow and prosper.
